Witch way to Zero Waste?Austin, TX recently joined a small but growing list of cities with “Zero Waste” policies. Is this even possible? According to the non-profit group, Zero Waste Alliance, the answer is yes–or at least it is a worthy goal and one that will save you money as well as saving the world. You can check out their website at
www.zerowaste.org and it is not just for hippies or college towns full of young progressives. They seem really bent on
saving you money. This all couldn’t be better timed since just a few weeks ago the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality announced they were going to collect over $450,000 in fines from Texas companies violating the state’s environmental policies. The moral of the story: it pays to recycle responsibly and you will pay if you don’t.
